Suzanne Fetscher
President & CEO
Suzanne Fetscher was appointed founding President of McColl Center for Visual Art in April 1998.  Prior to this appointment, Ms. Fetscher served for five years as Executive Director of Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.  Before becoming Executive Director, Ms. Fetscher served as Atlantic Centers Assistant Program Director, and then Program Director.  A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Orlando (B.F.A., 1979) and University of Florida, Gainesville (M.F.A., 1982), she spent several post-graduate years teaching design and drawing, serving as adjunct instructor at Rollins College, Winter Park, and University of Central Florida, Orlando, and as a full-time visiting instructor at Stetson University, DeLand. She served as the Treasurer of Res Artis, the international consortium of residency programs and as a member of the International Advisory Board of Akiyoshidai International Art Village in Japan. Suzanne served as President of the Board for three years of the Alliance of Artists' Communities, a national consortium. She is a member of Charlotte's Women Executives and served on the Advisory Board of Carolina Trust for Public Land and The Friends of Fourth Ward.

Barbara Spradling

Barbara Spradling was appointed Director of The Innovation Institute at McColl Center for Visual Art in July 2008. Prior to this appointment, Barbara spent more than 20 years as a senior vice president with Bank of America. Her responsibilities included successfully leading execution of large domestic and global enterprise efforts specifically in the areas of operations, technology, finance and risk. Most recently, she developed and led the implementation of structured crisis management initiatives and business and data recovery programs following global natural disasters and acts of terrorism. Barbara also has dedicated her time and energy to a variety of local and national art, human services and real estate development non-profit agencies, including the Arts and Science Council, Council for Children's Rights, YWCA, Children and Family Services Center and National Alliance of Artist Communities.
She earned the Advanced Management Development Certification from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and is Six Sigma Certified. Spradling is a recipient of the Charlotte Business Journal's Women In Business Achievement and the Dolly Award as an Outstanding Child Advocate. She is also a 2005 graduate of The Innovation Institute at McColl Center for Visual Art.

Sara Simmons

Sara Simmons was appointed Innovation Institute Associate in November of 2009.  Prior to this, she served as intern and avid volunteer to McColl Center for Visual Art since June of 2008.  Sara additionally interned at the Museum of York County in 2008, where she collaborated with museum staff to design and paint a large-scale mural for the Catawba River Gallery.
Sara graduated with distinction in May, 2009 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she double-majored in Studio Art (with a concentration in Painting) and Sociology.  She has always had a love for art and painting, which has been demonstrated in her past internships and will prove valuable in her future endeavors here at McColl Center for Visual Art.
